We now invite you to an exclusive masterclass where master distiller Eivind takes you behind the scenes to share how the spirits are made, what makes them so special, and to showcase the proud creations produced in the heart of Trondheim.
Craft spirits from ØX Distillery are all about passion, tradition, and uncompromising quality. You’ll enjoy an exciting tasting of different types of spirits, ranging from complex barrel-aged varieties to crystal-clear distillates.
About the instructor
Tonight’s host is head distiller Eivind Steiro Berg-Hanssen. With a deep passion for exceptional flavours and genuine distilling craftsmanship, he will guide you through ØX’s unique world. Eivind is dedicated to making the art of distilling engaging and accessible to everyone, and looks forward to sharing the secrets behind the spirits maturing in the historic vaulted cellar.
ØX has operated its distillery since 2021 and has worked extensively with the distillation of Norwegian aquavit and local fruit, with a particular focus on apples and sour cherries, alongside a range of other exciting ingredients.

In this course, you will taste wild plants, mushrooms, and refined products from the natural landscape of Trøndelag. We take a closer look at how the ingredients are foraged, what to be aware of, and how they can be used in food and drinks.
Aquavit has long traditions in Trøndelag that stretch back several hundred years. Svein Berfjord from Inderøy Distillery and Eivind Steiro Berg-Hanssen from ØX Tap Room and Distillery place great emphasis on using local ingredients in their production, and on continuing the long and proud tradition of aquavit production in Trondheim.
