In the old fishing village of Myken, a gin is crafted that has won hearts both nationally and internationally. Every ingredient used in the gin grows locally — on a tiny island of less than one square kilometre.

Join us for a tasting of different varieties that may give you a new perspective on a spirit that is sometimes taken for granted. Experience the remarkable and complex flavours that emerge from Myken.

About the hosts

Trude Tokle and Roar Larsen founded Myken Distillery in 2014, and have since established themselves as some of the finest and most quality-driven producers of Norwegian spirits.

Located 32 kilometres out at sea along the Helgeland coast, the distillery has become known as “the world’s most remote distillery.” The island of Myken has 13 permanent residents, and 8 of them work at the distillery. “We dare to call ourselves the cornerstone of the community,” say Trude and Roar.

Svein Berfjord from Inderøy Distillery and Eivind Steiro Berg-Hanssen from ØX Tap Room and Distillery place great emphasis on using local ingredients in their production, and on continuing the long and proud tradition of aquavit production in Trondheim.
