Klostergården

Klostergården is a small farm located in the middle of the Trondheimsfjord on the island of Tautra. Here you can spend the night, eat good food, drink beer from our own brewery and buy a range of products such as jam, cheese and cured meats from the farm shop.

The place has a strong historical connection to Frosta-ting and the monastery tradition. Nearby you will find both the ruins of the old monastery built in the 13th century and the new modern Tautra Mariakloster inaugurated in 2006. Klostergården can offer accommodation in fantastic surroundings on Tautra in charming rooms in an old Trønderlån.

Klostergården hand brewery was started as an extension of the food and beer service in Klostergården with the desire to brew good and exciting beer that both complements the various dishes served, and can also be enjoyed on its own. In addition to a basic range, they brew various seasonal beers.

In 2014, their "Alstadberger" was awarded the first Specialty label for a Norwegian beer. To get this label, the beer must contain Norwegian-produced malt and hops.
